The mission of Cal-Trade Welding School of Modesto is to provide educational career programs which prepare students to succeed in a chosen vocation. At Cal-Trade Welding School a student is provided the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, self-discipline, self-confidence, a professional attitude, and the ability to meet employer expectations.

In order to assist the student in achieving these goals, the institution has established a productive environment consisting of a facility of experienced professionals possessing extensive knowledge, skills, and concern for student achievement and success; and who continually participate in activities to upgrade their knowledge and skill.

Programs

Cal-Trade Welding School of Modesto offers both full courses of study and part-time refresher courses. Part-time refresher courses are offered at hourly rates depending on the instruction requested (Basic arc welding, advanced arc welding, basic heliarc welding, advanced heliarc welding, pipe welding - arc, pipe welding - heliarc, and MIG or Innershield welding). Full courses are available in Combination Welding, TIG/MIG, Pipeline Welding and AWS Inspector (see program explanations below for curriculum information for each course).

Combination Welding

Arc, Heliarc, MIG Innershield and Introductory Pipe Welding on mild steel electrodes. This course takes approximately 20-22 weeks to complete.

TIG/MIG

Heliarc-mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum to aircraft code, MIG, Innershield and Dualshield on mild steel to AWS and ASME codes. This course takes approximately 12 weeks to complete.

Pipeline Welding

Arc, Heliarc to ASME and API codes, mild steel electrodes. To enroll in this course the student must have prior welding experience. This course takes approximately 10 weeks to complete.
